Bernard Levin’s ‘On Quoting Shakespeare’ was first published in The Times in the 1970s, and again later in his 1983 book Enthusiasms.
Essentially a list of quotes from Shakespeare’s writing cleverly linked by a narrative, it reveals the quantity and diversity of words and phrases in everyday language that originate from The Bard’s pen.
