Published by New North Press to accompany Word Parts, an exhibition by Alida Kuzemczak-Sayer held at Standpoint Gallery during Nov–Dec 2023.

Word Parts explores the sculptural potential of written language and the book form in relation to the endangered craft of letterpress printing.

Working with us at NNP over many months, Alida reacquainted herself with the techniques of traditional printing and bookbinding, producing prints that she would later reformulate into the most amazing sculptural forms.

The book documents the project in three 16-page sections. ‘Part 1: Words’, features specially commissioned texts by writer and artist Isobel Wohl, artist and RCA senior tutor Kate Davis, NNP partner Richard Ardagh, and Alida herself; ‘Part 2: Works’, presents the seven artworks from the exhibition; ‘Part 3: Process’, records visuals from the extensive research and development stages of the project.

The 32 page catalogue has been printed digitally and has open binding with exposed red thread. Each copy has been hand-finished with torn fore-edges to close each section.
